On Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at 11am ET Transcend Partner Cynthia Leck will be co-leading a webinar for the Barr Foundation with Andy Calkins from Next Generation Learning Challenges (NGLC). The focus of the webinar will be the Development and Use of a Robust Portrait of a Graduate.
Content mastery is necessary but not sufficient to prepare high school graduates to successfully engage in a range of post-secondary pursuits in our rapidly changing economy and society. A broad set of knowledge, skills, and habits of mind is increasingly integral to entering and advancing through college and career. On Tuesday, December 11th at 11 AM, the Barr Foundation will host Setting up Students for Success: Development and Use of a Robust Portrait of a Graduate, a webinar that will explore how to define a successful high school graduate, as well as how to align high school practice with that definition.
Our speakers from two national organizations, Next Generation Learning Challenges (NGLC) and Transcend, as well as staff from New England high schools, will share their expertise and insights about why and how to create a vision for what your graduates will know and be able to do, and then use that vision to inform decisions about your high school learning environments. This interactive conversation is open to all practitioners interested in furthering their understanding of what it means to graduate students who are fully prepared for life after high school.
